The Itinerary

AIRPORT / NEGOMBO
DAY 01
: You will be met at the airport and transferred to Negombo.
Check in at Goldisands Hotel and relax.  For morning arrivals in the afternoon you can enjoy a sight seeing tour of Negombo and experience the busy streets and ‘crazy’ Negombo drivers.  Negombo is in the heart of Sri Lanka's fishing industry and the sea and catamarans are the backdrop of the Negombo scenery. Visit the Negombo lagoon and a fish auction. Also visit the Dutch Fort and a Catholic Church.

NEGOMBO / PINNAWALA / SIGIRIYA
DAY 02 : After breakfast Transfer from Negombo to Pinnawala, were you get a chance to get close to a large herd of elephants, then follow them down to the river where you can spend many hours watching them bathe and play.
Continue your journey to Sigiriya and check in at Hotel Sigiriya

SIGARIYA/ANURADHAPURA / SIGIRIYA
DAY 03 :
After breakfast, proceed to the ancient capital of Anuradhapura. The sacred city of Anuradhapura, founded in the 3rd century BC is venerated as the Capital City of Buddhism. See the sacred Bo Tree grown from a sapling of the tree, under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, and is the oldest living tree in documented history. In it's vicinity are the remains of the Brazen Palace, the towering Ruwanweliseya Dagaba, the Seated Samadhi Buddha, Temples, Palaces and Parks. 
After visiting Anuradhpura return to the hotel at Sigiriya for another overnight stay at Hotel Sigiriya


SIGIRIYA/POLONNARUWA/SIGIRIYA
DAY 04 :
Visit the Sigiriya rock fortress. Climb through the ‘Lions Paws’ to the top for an amazing view of the surrounding plains. Admire the world famous frescoes of the ‘Sigiriya maidens’ and take a stroll along the well laid out gardens with its water features.
In the afternoon enjoy the sight seeing tour of medieval capital of Polonnaruwa that rose to fame after the decline of Anuradhapura. A unique irrigational complex known as the Sea of Parakrama watered the city as well as the surrounding plains. The largest of the man made reservoirs, the huge Parakrama Samudra, is larger in size than Colombo Harbor. The ruins of the King's Council Chamber, the Royal Citadel, the Thuparama with its original vaulted roof, the Vatadage Relic House - lavished with moonstones, guard stones and sculptured railing, the Kiri Vehera - best preserved of all Sri Lanka's un-restored dagabas can all be seen here. A “must see” are impressive sculptures carved on the face of a granite boulder. These are colossal Buddha images. The recumbent Buddha measures 14 metres and the standing figure is 7 meters in height.

DAMBULLA / MATALE / KANDY
DAY 05 : After breakfast transfer from Sigiriya to Dambulla,
Visit Dambulla rock cave temple. King Walagambahu has built this temple in the 1st century B.C. and it is a world heritage site. Also, it is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. metres of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world. It contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 metres.
After visiting Dambulla continue your journey to Kandy. On the way visit a spice garden in Matale to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for and see how some of these spices are grown and processed.

KANDY
DAY 06 : After breakfast enjoy a sight seeing tour in Kandy,
Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, which is a World Heritage Site. The name "Kandy" conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798.
Visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy.
Also visit Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Take a walk through the beautiful avenues full of tropical and colourful plants, and watch the Mahaweli River (Sri Lanka’s longest) meander through.  Late afternoon witness a cultural pageant highlighting various up country-dance forms, including a fire walking display.

KANDY / NUWARA ELYA (BY TRAIN)
DAY 07 : After breakfast transfer from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya  travelling on winding roads through unforgettable hill-country enjoying the beautiful scenery of the tea estates.
On the way you will visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Here you can observe the process of manufacturing tea and see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory.

NUWARA ELIYA
DAY 08 : After breakfast,
Full day at leisure or at your own activities,
Optional - Take a packed breakfast and picnic lunch before proceeding early morning to visit Horton Plains Nature Reserve, This Forest Nature Reserve is set on a highland plateau, 7000 feet above sea level. It has a variety of rare flora and fauna that is unique to the area and to be found in no other part of the world.
A gentle trek in the refreshing climate brings you to “World’s End”. The feeling of exultation and the excitement that grips you as you peer down this sheer precipice is the experience of a lifetime. Words cannot express the beauty of the awesome forbidding scenery while you stand at the edge of a frightening, precipitous drop of 328 meters. On a clear day you can see in the far distance a shimmering streak of water, which is the Indian Ocean more than 50 miles away.

NUWARA ELIYA / YALA
DAY 09 : After breakfast transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Yala
On the way enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Ella gap and the Rawana Falls.

YALA SAFARI
DAY 10 : After an early breakfast enjoy a safari of The Yala National Park by jeep.
Yala is the largest and most famous National park with Yala West (Ruhuna) combining a strict nature reserve with the Park. Leopard, (Sri Lanka boasts the world’s largest population of leopards), elephant and many smaller animals are competing for the same drinking supply. You are likely also to see sloth bears, deer, wild boar, buffaloes, crocodiles and monkeys. Birds are in profusion – up to 130 species. YALA / DIKWELLA
DAY 11 : After breakfast transfer from Yala to Dikwella.
Check in at Marissa paradise (Dikwella).   In the afternoon enjoy your self at the beach.

DAY 12 : Full day at leisure on the beach.
Optional tour to Galle
Galle was once the chief port of Sri Lanka. It is still well known for hand-made lace. You can also visit the Galle Fort (spanning 90 acres), which was originally built by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663. This is also a World Heritage Site.

DAY 15: Full day at Leisure on the beach or take a trip on the sea in a catamaran for that final top up of your tan.
